Presbyterian Social Ministries, Inc, receives two-year $140,000 grant from The Jim Moran Foundation

May 14, 2025

Funding will be used for PSMJax’s Clothing with Purpose program, connecting 26,000+ children and adults in need with clothing and other essential items

Jacksonville, Florida, June 2, 2025 – Presbyterian Social Ministries, Inc. (PSMJax) was selected by The Jim Moran Foundation to receive a two-year grant of $70,000 per year for its Clothing with Purpose program as a part of The Foundation’s 25th anniversary.

“Thanks to this generous funding from The Jim Moran Foundation, PSMJax will be able to continue to fulfill our faith-based mission to connect those who have with those in need through our Clothing with Purpose (CWP) program,” said PSMJax Chief Executive Officer Teri Ketchum. “Like food and shelter, clean clothing is a basic need, allowing kids to go to school ready to learn and adults to find employment successfully, all while living with dignity in our community, and that’s what we do with the CWP program. We are so grateful to Jan Moran and The Jim Moran Foundation for believing in our mission and helping us serve individuals and families here in Northeast Florida and beyond.”

Last year, PSMJax’s Clothing with Purpose collected, sorted, and distributed 188,000+ clothing and essential items to 100+ nonprofit partners, including schools and shelters, serving 26,000+ individuals at no charge. CWP receives children’s and adult clothing from local and national manufacturers, companies and consignment stores.

“Presbyterian Social Ministries helps bridge the gap of available resources for nonprofits and those they serve with donations of clothing and other essentials,” said Jan Moran, chairman and president of The Jim Moran Foundation. “We are happy to be a part of supporting their
mission of connecting those who have with those who need.

To recognize its 25th anniversary, The Jim Moran Foundation has already committed more than $5.6 million in special grants, with more to be announced in the coming months, that reach beyond its traditional giving guidelines to support nonprofit partners in Broward, Duval, and Palm Beach counties.
