Clothing Insecurity

How a school clothing closet served 200 children because of bulk donations from PSMJax.

Sep 23, 2025

PSMJax partners with The Giving Closet Project (GCP) to fight clothing insecurity in Jacksonville. GCP recently shared the story of a young elementary student who had outgrown her only school uniform. She was embarrassed, her clothes no longer fit, and her attendance began to drop. Through our Clothing with Purpose program, the school received boxes of uniforms from PSMJax. When this student tried on a new skirt that fit properly, she smiled, twirled, and walked back to class with confidence. Her teacher later told us that this small moment made a big difference: the student returned to regular attendance and was more engaged in the classroom.
