presbyterian social ministries

No one’s story should be defined by what they wear or where they sleep.

We’re removing barriers by meeting the basic needs of every neighbor.

Each year, 1 out of 30 American children go to sleep without a home.

2 out of 5 children don’t have the clothing they need to dress themselves for the day.

Our Impact

Clothing With Purpose
Home Safe

Clothing with Purpose distributed over 130,000 items of clothing valued at $1.4 million!

Home Safe continues provides stable housing for over 50 previously homeless individuals and families.

Our collaborative work

This IS our mission. Connecting those who have with those who need.

Presbyterian Social Ministries (PSMJax) meets the reality of poverty with the hope of collaborative generosity, collecting and sorting quality, donated goods to share with agencies directly serving our neighbors.

Together, we’re reducing the number of children who don’t know where they will sleep tonight or what they will wear to school tomorrow.

With your help, we can move countless families beyond a fight for survival and empower them to pursue more hopeful, secure, and confident futures.

The Values That Drive Us

1. Generosity. What we have, we freely give.

  • We will never sell the clothing we receive, and our agency partners sign a pledge that they will never sell it.
  • We don’t charge our partner agencies for our goods and services.
  • We share our clothing with any agency, serving any population.

2. Stewardship. What we receive, we never waste.

  • We have kept over 60k pounds of material out of landfills.
  • We find a partner who can distribute or recycle every item that is donated. Learn more about our partners in stewardship.

3. Dignity. We give more than clothing.

  • Clean clothing is critical to human dignity.
  • Experiencing hardship should not equate to receiving only sub-par secondhand items.
  • We work with partners who respectfully distribute our clothing to our neighbors.

How you can help

1. Volunteer

One hour of your time can change someone’s life.

Any gift of time you spend preparing our donations for distribution ensures that our partner agencies never have to turn away a family in need.

2. Partner

We partner with any agency who can respectfully share our donated and sorted goods with the people who need them most.

If we can help you multiply your impact, then let’s partner.

3. Give

Financial gifts of any amount have a transformational impact.

We will put your gift to its highest and best use, from purchasing goods to share with our partners to shipping donated goods across the globe.
